What is the Honeycomb Centre?

The Honeycomb Programme provides Entry Level vocational and basic skills qualifications as well as access to practical work environments. This all happens at the innovative thriving social business the Honeycomb Project at Longnor, funded by the European Social Fund. The programme was recently awarded ‘Highly Commended’ status in the Association of Colleges’ national Beacon Awards.

For students

The Honeycomb Centre is based at Longnor in the Staffordshire Moorlands. The Centre will help you to develop your work skills in a real business setting.

Travel to the centre is easy using the College minibus.

When you are ready you can access a work placement for one or two days per week.

What Qualifications will I earn?

Other courses are available depending on your choices.

Where can I go after the course?

Anywhere - how long you stay and what you do depends on your needs. You might be ready to move on after a few months.
You might take longer, or want to slowly change your programme until you are taking a full vocational qualification.

The Honeycomb Project gained ‘Highly Commended’ in the 2003 Association of Colleges’ Beacon Awards.

The Honeycomb Project was in the Department for Education and Skills ‘14-19 Extending Opportunities, Raising Standards’ Green Paper on Education.

The Project was represented at a Downing Street Reception in December 2004 to mark achievement in Education and Social Services.
