Beauty Therapist Stacey walked out of Leek College one week and into a job the next – thanks to her hands-on training in the College’s Bodyworks salon. Stacey, 19, from Cheadle is now working in the Alton Towers Hotel after passing both her Level 2 and Level 3 NVQs in Beauty Therapy at college. And she was never more grateful for her practical training than at interview when she was asked to perform a back massage on the Alton Towers Spa Manage

I really loved the college course – both the theory and the practical side of it. I loved learning about anatomy and physiology and my two years at college really flew by, unlike my school years which seemed to drag.

I think the training facilities at college are really good and I found the lecturers in the beauty department were all extremely helpful and encouraging. I think what really boosted my confidence was carrying out treatments on real clients in the College’s Bodyworks training salon.

I am pleased to find employment so soon after finishing my course. I would recommend Leek College to anyone interested in a career in the beauty industry.
