Anthony Ball - Business Administration Apprentice

High-flying Apprentice Anthony from Leek jetted off to Germany for a month’s work experience at his employer’s head office.
Nineteen-year-old Anthony has been working as an administrator for Pinewood Drapilux, in Albert Street, Leek on an Apprenticeship.
Now, he will be working at his company’s headquarters in Emsdetten near to the Dutch German border, where he hopes to gain an in depth knowledge of the company and its products – flame retardant fabrics supplied to schools, hospitals, nursing homes, prisons and the hospitality industry

I came straight here after my A Levels at Leek High School where I studied Geography, History and Law. I didn’t fancy university at all because I didn’t want to be faced with debts at the start of my career.
Here I am learning on the job as well as on day release at college every Tuesday. I’ve only got a GCSE in German but I think I’ll get by and I’m looking forward to experiencing a new culture.
I think I am very lucky, in today’s financial climate, to be working in a job which I enjoy and I would recommend Apprenticeships to those leaving school this summer.
