Apprenticeships
If you are leaving or have left full time education you will want to learn skills that will give you satisfaction at work. You will also want to improve your prospects of finding a job in the industry that you have chosen. Apprenticeships allow you to do just that!
What are Apprenticeships?
Apprenticeships have been designed for young people who want to gain qualifications by working and studying. If you take an Apprenticeship qualification you will gain most of your experience in the workplace, which will be supported by further study one day per week in College.
Earn while you learn
Apprentices do real jobs for real employers, so you are paid while you learn.
Training that's useful
Apprenticeships are designed with the help of employers in the industry so they offer a structured programme that takes you through the skills you need to do the job well.
There are three types of Apprenticeships
- Apprenticeships based on level 2 qualifications
- Apprenticeships based on level 3 qualifications
- Apprenticeships based on level 4 qualifications which we feature in Information Communication Technology
All Apprenticeships require you to complete a Technical Certificate, an NVQ qualification together with Key Skills.
Qualifications
You will get a package of qualifications when you finish your apprenticeship that will be recognised by the employer, anywhere in the country. This means that you can change jobs and take your skills and qualifications with you.
