Students in Years 9 & 10 and their parents are being invited to attend a Pupil & Parent Open Event at Leek College next month to get an idea of what college life is really like and how it differs from school.
The Open Day, which takes place at the Leek College Campus between 10am and 1pm on Saturday, 16th June will allow young people and their parents to meet current students, have a full tour of the campus and chat to tutors.
Pete Turpie, Director of Curriculum and Quality, said: “It’s never too early to start thinking about your options and we would encourage young people and their parents to come along to find out what those options are.
“College offers many more opportunities than people sometimes realise, from vocational courses and apprenticeships through A Levels and Foundation Degrees.
“Here at Leek we take particular pride in matching students to the right type of course for them and supporting them as an individual to achieve their ambitions. Our success rate for all 16-18 year olds on long courses was 95% last year, and 98% of students achieved their first choice University place.
People interested in attending the Open Event can
book a place online or call 01538 398 866 for more information.
The event will take place at Leek College Campus, Union Street (near to Leek Library). There is public parking available on local side streets, or many reasonably priced car parks within walking distance.
