POLICY STATEMENT
Access to Meetings of the Corporation and its Committees and Publication of Documents
1 CORPORATION MEETINGS
1.1 Publication of Documents
After each meeting of the Corporation the agenda and other documents considered at the meeting (including the approved minutes of the previous meeting) will be available to any person wishing to inspect them. After the draft minutes of the meeting have been agreed by the Chair, they will also be made available as ‘unapproved’ minutes.1.2 Access to Meetings
In addition to its members, meetings of the Corporation will normally be attended by the Vice-Principal. Other persons may attend particular meetings by specific invitation by the Corporation.
2 COMMITTEE MEETINGS
2.1 Publication of Documents
The documents considered by and the minutes of the Remuneration Committee (which advises on the pay and conditions of service of senior postholders) and the Special Committee (which deals with proposals to dismiss senior postholders) will not be made available for public inspection;
After each meeting of the:
- Audit Committee (which advises on the effectiveness of the College’s internal control and management systems)
- Quality and Standards Committee (which decides and advises on quality, standards, marketing and related matters)
- Resources Committee (which decides and advises on employment policy, finance and general matters)
- Search and Governance Committee (which advises on the appointment of Corporation members, governance and related matters)

2.2 Access to Meetings
The attendance of non-members at meetings of:
- the Remuneration Committee, the Special Committee and the Audit Committee is restricted to persons invited to give evidence or provide information;
- the Quality and Standards Committee is restricted to [designations] on a regular basis and other staff invited from time to time;
- the Resources Committee is restricted to the Vice-Principal on a regular basis and other staff invited from time to time;
- the Search and Governance Committee is restricted to persons invited from time to time.
3 GENERAL MATTERS
3.1
Subject to the provisions of the Instrument and Articles of Government any document or part of any document (including minutes) which the Corporation or Committee decides should be treated as confidential shall not be included in the documents made available for public inspection.3.2
Documents for publication as defined in paragraphs 1.1 and 2.1 above will be kept in the College Library and made available to any person wishing to inspect them. Copies will also be provided to the local public library. Copies of agenda and non-confidential minutes will also be made available on the College’s website (www.leek.ac.uk).3.3
All meetings of the Corporation and its committees shall be attended by the Clerk to the Corporation except where his/her remuneration, conditions of service, etc are considered.
