Travel Bursaries

We’re committed to making sure that, in a rural area, you can choose where to study based on your goals and aspirations without worrying about high public transport costs.

If you’re aged 16-18 when you begin your course and travel on public transport, you’ll qualify for a Travel Bursary.

Travel Bursaries for 2006-2007

If you’re travelling by bus to College next year, you’ll receive a Travel Bursary of £100.

If you qualify for and purchase a Staffordshire County Council Bus Pass your costs will be the equivalent of only £2.50 each week! – and you can use the pass at the weekend and in the evening.

Even if you don’t qualify for a bus pass (because you don’t live in the Staffordshire County Council Area) but live more than 3 miles from College, you’ll still get the Bursary which will reduce your costs by nearly £3 each week.

If you’re in the Buxton or Ashbourne areas and travel on the College’s minibus, you’ll pay only £30 per term - the equivalent of just £2.50 each week!

Making Travel arrangements can be complicated, so contact us for help and information.
